EXIGENT DEFENSE CLEANING PROCEDURES
We recommend cleaning the suppressor every 10,000 rounds, alternatively when the suppressor has gained
approximately 3 ounces from its original baseline weight, it is recommended that the suppressor be cleaned.
- Create a cleaning solution using standard all purpose Simple Green® cleaner mixed with water at a
1:10 ratio consisting of 1 part Simple Green® cleaner to 10 parts water. - Fill a sturdy container with enough cleaning solution to submerge the suppressor.
- Submerge the suppressor vertically with the muzzle down in the container.
- Let the suppressor soak in the cleaning solution undisturbed for 24 hours.
- If an ultrasonic cleaner is available, the suppressor may be soaked in the above cleaning
solution for 10-15 minutes at a temperature between 110°F and 120°F.
- If an ultrasonic cleaner is available, the suppressor may be soaked in the above cleaning
- Remove the suppressor from the container and thoroughly rinse the suppressor internally and
externally with water. DO NOT USE any bore snakes, rags, or paper towels to push or pull through the
suppressor as pieces may tear and remain inside the suppressor. - Brush the internal threaded area in the blast chamber of the suppressor with a nylon cleaning brush or
fabric rag to remove any carbon on the threads. - Rinse the suppressor with clean water after brushing.
- Stand the suppressor muzzle down for 1 to 2 minutes to allow any remaining internal water to percolate
towards the bore endcap. - Shake the suppressor vigorously for 30-60 seconds to dispel any loose carbon or remaining water.
- Visually inspect the suppressor bore aperture for any obstructions or debris.
- After confirming the suppressor is free for any obstructions, rapid fire 10 rounds of live ammunition
through the suppressor to expel any remaining carbon and evaporate any remaining moisture inside
the suppressor. Steam or loose carbon debris expelled upon test firing is normal and expected. - The cleaning process can be repeated every 10,000 rounds if desired.
